Ⅲ.故事续写
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
I am a mother of three and have recently completed my college degree.
The last class I had to take was sociology(社会学).The teacher was absolutely inspiring with the qualities that I wish every human had been graced with. Her last project of the term was called “Smile.” The class was asked to go out and smile at three people and document their reactions.
I am a very friendly person and always smile at everyone and say hello anyway. So,I thought this would be a piece of cake. Soon after we were given the project,my husband, youngest son,and I went out to McDonald’s one old March morning. It was just our way of sharing special playtime with our son. We were standing in line, waiting to be served, when all of a sudden everyone around us began o back away, and then even my husband did.
I did not move a bit...a strong feeling of fear welled up inside of me as I turned to see why they had moved. As I turned around I smelled a terrible “dirty body” smell, and there standing behind me were two poor homeless men. As I looked down at the short gentleman, close to me,he was “smiling”. His beautiful sky blue eyes were full of hope as he searched for acceptance.
He said, “Good day” as he counted the few coins he had been holding. The second man was obviously mentally disabled. I held my tears as I stood there with them.
The young lady at the counter asked him what they wanted. He said,“Coffee is all,Miss,”because that was all they could afford.(If they wanted to sit in the restaurant and warm up,they had to buy something. He just wanted to be warm.)
Then I really felt the desire was so great that I almost reached out and hugged the little man with the blue eyes.

Ⅳ.概要写作
阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。
When a rather dirty,poorly-dressed person kneels at your feet and puts out his hands to beg for a few coins,do you hurry on,not knowing what to do,or do you feel sad and hurriedly hand over some money? What should our attitude to beggars be?There can’t be no question that the world is full of terrible sad stories,It must be terrible to have no idea where our next meal is coming from. It seems cruel not to give some money to beggars.
Certainly, most of the world’s great religions order us to be open-hearted and share what we have with those less fortunate than ourselves. But has the world changed?Maybe what was morally right in the old days, when one knew exactly who in the village had suffered misfortune and needed help,is no longer the best idea. Quite a few people will not give to beggars. Let us look at their arguments.
First, some believe that many city beggars dress up on purpose to look pitiable and actually make a good living from begging. Giving to beggars only encourages this sort of evil. Secondly, there is the worry that the money you give will be spent on beer, wine or drugs. Thirdly, there is the opinion that there is no real excuse for begging. One might be poor, but that is no reason for losing one’s sense of pride and self-dependence.
Related to this is the opinion that the problem should be dealt with by the government rather than ordinary people. Some people think beggars should go to the local government department and receive help.
It is hard to come to a conclusion: there are various cases and we must deal with them differently. a few coins can save a life in some situations, and even if the money is wasted, that does not take away the moral goodness of the giver.
