[辽宁2021高三新高考联合调研]As we live longer and technology continues its rapid development,we can imagine a future where machines will enlarge our abilities and help us make better life choices, from health to wealth. Through our dialogue and digital pieces,AI(artificial intelligence)will understand our life goals and wishes, our duties and limitations. It will help us plan different life events,so we can spend more time enjoying life's moments.
The ability for AI to understand the complexities of language and slight differences in human conversation is,however, one hurdle(难关).There are several thousand known living languages in the world today. Adding to the difficulty are the varied ways words are shared and used across different cultures, including grammar, levels of education and styles of the speakers. Google Duplex, the technology supporting Google Assistant, which places phone calls using a natural-sounding human voice instead of a robotic one, is an early attempt to address such challenges in human communication. But these are just initial steps in AI's long journey.
Beyond making reservations and conducting simple dialogues, virtual assistants will need to become far more useful and further fit into our everyday life.
Not only will they need to foresee what we need before we ask, they also need to understand the context of our conversations and react accordingly. Imagine a snow day when the school is cancelled for the kids. Knowing that you must now stay at home with your children, your phone would remind you, asking if you'd like to have your meetings moved to the following day.
Alternatively, imagine how much more pleasant your journey home from a business trip would be if your phone could automatically arrange for a ride waiting to pick you up at the airport, based on your travel plan, location, and habits. The possibilities are endless.
1. What do we know about Al
A. It stops us living longer.
B. It narrows our abilities.
C. It doesn't know our limitations.
D. It helps us enjoy life better.
2. What make it hard for AI to understand what humans say
A. Low levels of speakers.
B. Imperfections of AI.
C. Varieties of languages and cultures.
D. Similarities among languages.
3. Which word can best describe the author's attitude towards AI
A. Doubtful.
B. Approving.
C. Negative.
D. Critical.
4. Which of the following can be the best title for the passage
A. AI Will Replace Humans
B. AI Will Set Goals for Us
C. AI Will Be Part of Our Daily Life
D. AI Will Meet Challenges

In the far,far future, bicycles and perhaps skates may be run by jet power, and a new thing to ride may be a small flying saucer(飞碟).Imagine a race between them!
There may be telepathy(心灵感应)helmets that send thought waves from your brain to that of your friend miles away. You just think a thought and your friend knows it!You can have secrets with each other that nobody else can get in on!
What about the food of the future?Scientists think that much of it will be artificial-made in factories from such surprising things as coal, limestone, air, and water. The artificial food will be healthful because all the things that you need to live a long and healthy life will be put into it.
The future hospitals will probably have “body banks” that can give you almost any new part you need to keep on living. People of the future may live to be a lot older than 100 years.
What about highways of the future?Well,a very small child probably will be able to drive a car. Nobody will need to drive. Electronic signals will hold each car on the right road to get wherever the “driver" wants to go. And it probably will be impossible for cars to smash together. Controls that won't even have to be touched will make all speeding cars miss each other or will brake the cars. Driving cars will be as safe as being at home.
But maybe the most wonderful surprise in the future will be weather control. Cities may have giant plastic domes(圆顶)over them to keep out snow, rain,or storms. When you plan a picnic in a park, you won't have to worry about rain. It will rain only when the “weatherman” thinks it is necessary to fresh the air inside the city. All other days will be fair and warm.
The future should be a wonderful time to live and the time we are living in now is also a wonderful future to the people who lived 100 years ago.
1. What does the underlined word "that" in Paragraph 2 refer to
A. The telepathy helmet.
B. The brain.
C. The thought wave.
D. The secrets.
2. What can we learn from the passage
A. There will be "body banks" instead of hospitals in the future.
B. Plastic domes themselves can automatically control the weather.
C. With telepathy helmets, we can share our thoughts without any secrets.
D. The artificial food will be made from surprising materials in the future.
3. With the future highways, _______.
A. small children have to learn to drive
B. car accidents still can't be avoided
C. we can be taken to the destination without driving
D. cars will be no longer equipped with brakes
4. What is the author's attitude towards the future life
A. Optimistic.
B. Pessimistic.
C. Dissatisfied.
D. Doubtful.

What will man be like in the future? How about in 5,000 or even 50,000 years from now?We can only make a guess,of course, but we can be sure that future man will be different from what we are like today.1
Let's give an example. Man,even 500 years ago,was shorter than today. Now,on average, men are about three inches taller.500 years is a relatively short period of time,so we may guess that man will continue to grow taller. Again,in the modern world we use our brains a great deal. Even so,we make use of only about 20%of the brain's capacity(容量).As time goes on,however,we shall have to use our brains more and more-and finally we shall need even larger ones!2 The head, the forehead in particular, will grow larger.
3 In fact,we use them so much that very often they become weaker and we have to wear glasses. But over a very long period of time it is likely that man's eyes will grow stronger. On the other hand, we tend to make less use of our arms and legs.4 At the same time, however, our fingers will grow more sensitive because they are used a great deal in modern life.
But what about hair This will probably disappear from the body altogether in the course of time because it does not serve a useful purpose any longer. In the future, then, both sexes are likely to be bald.
Perhaps all these give the impression that future man will not be a very attractive creature to look at!
5 Future man will still be human beings, with thoughts and emotions similar to our own.
A. Nowadays our eyes are in constant use.
B. This probably brings about mental changes.
C. These, as a result, are likely to grow weaker.
D. This is likely to bring about physical changes, too.
E. That's because man is slowly changing all the time.
F. As a result, future man will have little in common with us.
G. In spite of all these changes, future man will still have a lot in common with us.
