Listening to the radio is something that I really like to do. Whether it’s to listen to my favorite songs, catch up on the latest news or just listen to something to help me relax, the radio is always there for me!
I’m surprised when talking to my students in school, to find out that many of them hardly ever listen to the radio because they think it’s boring. I always listen to the radio when I’m driving my car or doing my homework. The radio can also be very useful for me as it often has traffic updates (最新消息) which tell me whether the road I want to use has a traffic jam on it.
There is a song by The Buggles called “Video Killed the Radio Star” which I used to listen to a lot and now it makes more sense to me. Have TV and the Internet taken the place of the radio for many people
Now that I am living in Germany I recently managed to get hold of an old radio for free and so now I like to listen to it when I’m getting ready in the morning and when I’m making my tea. Of course it can be annoying (讨厌的) when a song that I don’t like comes on the radio but most of time I like the music that is played and it is also a good way for me to hear new songs. Listening to my new radio in German is good for my language learning because I can listen to the news, and also hear new German songs.
I’ve always listened to the radio since I was young and thought that it is a very popular way to listen to music and news, but after talking with my students I have found that might not be the case anymore. Whatever people think, you will still always find me dancing around my room listening to the radio!
4. What makes the author surprised according to the passage
A. That few people know about the radio.
B. That few students have stopped listening to the radio.
C. That many students seldom listen to the radio.
D. That the radio isn’t of great importance as before.
5. Which is not the benefit of the radio for the author
A. The radio keeps him informed of news.
B. The radio helps him finish his homework.
C. The radio provides him with a way to relax.
D. The radio helps him to improve German.
6. What can be inferred from the fourth paragraph
A. The author is not a native of Germany.
B. Germany offers free radios to its people.
C. Some songs make the author tired of the radio.
D. The author majors in the German language.
7. How does the author describe his hobby of listening to the radio
A. Coldly. B. Proudly. C. Anxiously. D. Excitedly.
【答案】4. C 5. B 6. A 7. B

Has your mom or dad ever posted a photo of you on social media that you didn’t want anyone outside your family to see In an age when people often share personal information on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, many parents usually post photos of their children. According to a recent study, a parent will post almost 1,000 photos of a child online before the child turns 5.
Parents often post photos on social media because they want to share their child’s special moments with friends and family. Some moms and dads do it as a way to connect with other parents. They may have discussions with experienced parents about topics such as how to get kids to sleep, or how to deal with kids’ behavioral problems.
Most parents don’t ask their children for permission before posting photos of them. They feel it is not necessary to consult with their children first because the benefits outweigh any possible risks. Many of them do not fear their kids’ pictures will spread further than intended. Some may even expect unknown people to view and comment on the pictures, and thus meet more new people on the Internet. “The images I post of my children allow me to know a lot of people I wouldn’t necessarily include on my list,” said Lauren Apfel, writer and mother of four.“They have helped me create a group on social media.”
Other parents and child experts believe that kids should be consulted. They say that photos can stay online for many years and that kids should have some control over their online photos. Devorah Heitner, an author who runs workshops about kids, is of the same opinion. “Allow your children to decide whether you can share their pictures on social media,” she said.

A. It is likely to be risky. B. It is harmful to children.

Aunt Evie had a dollhouse. It had many toys there. Every Friday afternoon, I went to Aunt Evie’s home with my parents. The adults would sit around a table in the dining room, eating pie and talking, while I played in the dollhouse for hours.
Sometimes I would pick up these lovely toys and place them in different positions. It was really fun. One time I asked Aunt Evie where she got the toys so that I could buy some, too. To my disappointment, Aunt Evie said that most of them were specially handmade gifts from her friends and couldn’t be bought anywhere. One such toy was a little bear, which was my favorite. It was so beautiful that I wanted to own it badly. “If I take it, Aunt Evie may not notice it. ” I said to myself.
Therefore, on a Friday afternoon, I attempted to take the little bear away from Aunt Evie’s dollhouse. I had to wait until nobody was watching me, ‘and it took me hours to get the courage to put the little bear in my pocket. Once I got the little bear, I couldn’t wait to go home. I had to hide it somewhere at home, so that no one would know I took it. That night after I went home with my parents, I couldn’t go to sleep. “What a bad person I am! I stole something from my loved Aunt Evie.” I thought. When I woke up the next morning, I felt awful, but I couldn’t tell my parents, let alone return the little bear to Aunt Evie.

7. How does the author describe his hobby of listening to the radio
A. Coldly. B. Proudly. C. Anxiously. D. Excitedly.

12. What do we know about today’s parents from Paragraph 1
A They spend too much time online. B. They like posting their kids’ photos.
C. They often post photos of family members. D. They try to protect kids’ personal information.
13. What is a reason why parents share their children’ photos online
A. They share the photos just for fun. B. They hope to introduce their kids.
C. They are in need of parenting advice. D. They want to offer support to their kids.
14. What does Apfel think of sharing kids’ photos online
A. It is likely to be risky. B. It is harmful to children.
C. It makes her online friends bored. D. It helps her to make more friends.
15. What is Heitner’s advice for parents who will post their kids’ photos
A. Get kids’ permission first. B. Try to do it with their kids.
