We have some of, the best, summer, camps, from, around the country. Here are top four for you to choose for your kid.
Steve & Kate’s Camp

And because they’re making their own choices, they find a sense of meaning in their activities that is hard to find elsewhere. Every single one of our camps is open from 8 am until 6 pm, and you can drop off or pick up at any time in that window. And get ready for a summer without packing lunches! Lunch and snacks are included daily.
Camp Cayuga
We can’t wait for your child to walk the halls of their dream campus, bond with new friends and experience the magic that has made the world, At Alexa Café, girls aged 10-15 tap into the power of technology, exploring leadership and social impact along the way. Ideas take shape in a unique, coffee shop-like setting between new friends. With small classes, this isn’t school. We take the pressure off so girls can get straight to what matters-building a love of tech and bringing meaningful projects to life with creativity.
Camp Invention
For over 30 years, the National Inventors Hall of Fame has inspired millions of children through its summer program, Camp Invention. The week-long program is led by local educators in your community and shows children of 6-8 years old how to develop the mind of an innovator.

When I was a boy growing up in New Jersey in the 1960s,we had a milkman delivering milk to our doorstep. His name was Mr.Basille. He wore a white cap and drove a white truck. As a 5-year-old boy,I couldn’t take my eyes off the coin changer fixed to his belt. He noticed this one day during a delivery and gave me a quarter out of his coin changer.
Of course,he delivered more than milk. There was cheese, eggs and so on. If we needed to change our order,my mother would pen a note-“Please add a bottle of buttermilk next delivery”-and place it in the box along with the empty bottles. And then, the buttermilk would magically(魔术般)appear.
All of this was about more than convenience. There existed a close relationship between families and their milkmen. Mr.Basille even had a key to our house, for those times when it was so cold outside that we put the box indoors,so that the milk wouldn’t freeze. And I remember Mr.Basille from time to time taking a break at our kitchen table, having a cup of tea and telling stories about his delivery.
There is sadly no home milk delivery today. Big companies allowed the production of cheaper milk, thus making it difficult for milkmen to compete. Besides, milk is for sale everywhere’,and it may just not have been practical to have a delivery service.
Recently,an old milk box in the countryside I saw brought back my childhood memories. I took it home and planted it on the back porch(门廊)!Every so often my son’s friends will ask what it is. So I start telling stories of my boyhood, and of the milkman who brought us friendship along with his milk.

We all need to eat, and when we go to buy food at the supermarket, we’re offered many choices. But we often buy food that’s been produced in huge amounts and that’s traveled many miles before it ends up on our plate; So for some, growing their own food is a better choice and it tastes good too!
From growing vegetables in little pots to taking care of a small plot of land, there are many ways to produce home-grown food. It can be backbreaking work digging, weeding and watering the soil, but the result is fresh, home-grown fruits and vegetables, helping us keep a ‘five-a-day’ diet.
Nowadays demand for homegrown food has seen a comeback in the UK. Miriam Dobson from the University of Sheffield, told the BBC that some people have been spending a lot of their time on growing plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables-which, at times, have been challenging to buy in supermarkets.
But for those with limited space, a solution to grow your own vegetables lies closer to home-using pots. Sheila Brand lives in a third-floor flat in Rotterdam. She has managed to grow tomatoes and eggplants and is already harvesting raspberries. She told the BBC watching the plants grow "is very exciting: ‘Oh it’s got a new, leaf!’
As well as the benefits of saving money and enjoying tasty food, growing your own not only improves your well-being and immediate environment, you can actually grow a lot of vegetables. So, maybe it’s time for us all to get planting and develop our green fingers!

When you visit Kinderdijk, one of the most visited villages in the Netherlands, you step right into the middle of Dutch history.
Kinderdijk lies in the Alblasserwaard, where the Lek and. Noord rivers meet together. Much of the village is near or even below sea level. Although there are canals and dykes(坝),the lowlands of the village are still at risk of flooding. Kenny and I weren’t surprised when our daughters, Kennedi and Kassadi, showed early athletic promise, Kennedi, our older daughter won a medal by age seven. Kassadi wasn’t far behind.

Of course they did!Who wouldn’t want to use a God-given gift,to the fullest?Slowly but surely, running took over our lives. By the time Kennedi started middle school, our family life was full of all kinds of trains and race. And I also became stricter with them.
"Faster!Move those legs!" I’d shout at Kennedi if she started falling behind. If the girls lost in a game, the car ride home was no fun..."Where was the effort on that last lap,Kassadi " I’d demand." Kennedi, you were faster in practice last week. What happened "
I had visions of college scholarships, maybe even the Olympics I did not imagine sitting in a doctor’s office almost now, staring at the medical equipment.
“Immediate surgery(手术)might be necessary,”the doctor said.," I’ve almost never seen this kind of injury in a child. And recovery can take a long time. She might not come back to racing."

Paragraph 1:
My feelings were mixed. I kept thinking about her unusual leg. The more I thought about it, the more I wondered whether Kennedi had been trying so hard because she feared what would happen on the car ride home if she failed to make finals. Was I partly to blame for her injury When I was alone with Kennedi that night, I gathered up the courage and asked if she thought I’d been too hard on her.
Paragraph 2:
“Yes! You are indeed too demanding,” Kennedi said. “You treat me differently when I win and when I lose,” Kennedi continued. “I wish you were the same even if I have a bad day in the race. I feel like you don’t accept me just for who I am.” Though disappointed, I knew what she said was true. Some of us expect too much of our kids, thus pushing the kids too hard and failing to accept them just for who they are. Our kids needed a Mom more than a coach.

W: My mom thinks that we should name the baby after her. (13) What do you think
M: I think your mom is a little too selfish! Plus, I don’t really think “Betty Bettson” sounds like a name I’d want to have. (13)
W: OK. I just had to ask. I didn’t like the idea much, either. I really love the name Laura, though.
M: That’s nice. But I think we should give her a really strong name so she’s tough. (14) How about Helga or Josephine
W: Those names make me think of unattractive women! Helga sounds like a lady who could carry me under her arm!
M: That’s the idea! I don’t want anyone thinking they can mess with my daughter. I want her to be able to stand up to people, especially any boys who might try to look at her.
W: I don’t think a name has that much power, dear. (15)
M: OK. I see your point. I’ll just have to take care of the boys myself. I know this baby is going to be beautiful!
W: That’s right. Let’s not give her an ugly name! How about something more elegant, like Victoria (16)
M: I like that! (16)
Text 10
Nicholas Sparks is an American author and storyteller whose books have consistently been turned into major Hollywood films. Although not all of his books were sold to Hollywood, all have been The New York Times best-sellers. He has sold over 97 million copies worldwide, (17) with over 65 million of them within the United States alone. He lives with his family in North Carolina. He is also considered to be very generous with his money. In 2011, he created the Nicholas Sparks Foundation to make more opportunities available to children from poor families. He said, “Education is the gift that changed my life.” (20) His foundation, which he started with his wife, creates scholarships for children from low-income families in rural communities. (18) He and his wife also founded the Epiphany School in New Bern, North Carolina. (19) The school’s main goal is to help students practice the values of respect, responsibility, service, and honesty on a daily basis. Sparks has had a very successful career, and he owes that to education. “The education I received growing up prepared me for the world I’d be facing in the future,” the author said. Even though he is worth an estimated 75 million dollars or so, Sparks seems to live the values he presents in his books and films.
