·Reduce
If you want to reduce waste, you should use things wisely (明智的). A large number of trees are being cut down to make paper. In China, people’s living conditions in the cities have changed a lot in the ways of transportation in the past fifty years.
A survey shows that the number of people riding a bike or walking is always decreasing. In 1974, more than 50% of people traveled to work on their own bikes, while by 2014, less than 20% of travelers preferred cycling or walking to work. Now the number becomes much smaller.
At the same time, there was a large increase in the use of cars. In 1974, very few people had a car. By 1994, about a quarter of travelers drove to work. This increased again, until 2014, about one third of travelers drove to work.
