My name is Arina. Last Saturday, my friends invited me to go with them to Shanghai Film Park in the Songjiang district. I took the subway to Lianhua Road Station and met with them there. Then, we spent about an hour traveling to the film park by bus.
We wanted to fully enjoy the atmosphere (氛围) of the film park. To do that, we changed into traditional Chinese costumes (服装) as soon as we arrived at the park. I wore a qipao---a very beautiful dress. When I put it on, I felt like an actress in early 20th-century Shanghai!
In our costumes, we began exploring the film park’s many different filming locations (拍摄地). There were an old study and a bridal chamber (婚房), for example. It was interesting to see the details (细节) on the props (道具), such as the drawings on the old chairs. In addition, a special hall showed clips (片段) from different old Chinese movies. I found these old movies very attractive.
Next, we watched a mime performance (哑刷表演) at the film park’s main square. The show was based on (基于) the famous children’s book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (《绿野仙踪》) . The actors performed to beautiful music. They brought the story to life.
We had a great time that day, but the film park was too big for us to fully explore in one day. It is truly a “film city”. If you want to visit it, you can also dress up in a costume like we did. This park will give you an unforgettable trip to the world of movies!

I Am Not a Child Anymore
I have changed a lot in the past three years. I used to be weak and short. But now I am strong and as tall as my mother. The most important thing is that I have learned to care about others.
It was a Wednesday evening. When I went back home, no one was in. So I cooked supper. I didn’t know my mother was ill until my parents came back from the hospital. They both said the meal was delicious, although it tasted a little salty. At bedtime, I fetched hot water for my mother to wash feet. My mother said, “Dear, you’ve really grown up.”
It was the first time that I had realized I was not a child anymore.
