The Ig Nobel Prize, a spoof(滑稽模仿) of the actual Nobel Prize, exists to award the 10strangest research projects of the year that bring you fun and make you think. The following are three of them in 2022.
Medicine Prize: Pizza
It's one of the world's most popular foods. According to the Ig Nobel Medicine Prize winner, eating more pizzas can lower the risk of cancer and heart discase if your pizza is loaded with fruits and veggies. These provide flavonoids(类黄酮) to fight against certain diseases. So, if you're a pizza enthusiast, you now have one more reason to love it!
Economics Prize: Dirty Money
Paper money, the most frequently passed items on the planet, is known to pick up all kinds of bacteria. Which country's currency is the dirtiest An international team compared seven countries' paper money. The Romanian Leu was the only one to carry all three types of bacteria tested. And the US Dollar was also a finalist (参加决赛者). Perhaps this will make cashless payments more popular.
Biology Prize: Cockroach
Cockroaches (蟬螂) are well known for their survival abilities, but few folks know they can sense magnetic fields. More surprisingly, an international team found that dead cockroaches have more magnetic properties (磁性) than live ones. That's because magnetic properties decrease when the temperature gets higher. So if you can stand cockroaches, they may be good magnetic sensors(传感器).
21. What do the three prizes have in common
A. They are beneficial to our health.
B. They've gotten the recognition of the actual Nobel Prize.
C. They are entertaining and unusual.
D. They are stranger than any other project in previous years.
22. What can we learn from the passage
A. People with heart disease should eat more pizzas.
B. Dead cockroaches are better magnetic sensors than live ones.
C. Dirty paper money leads to cashless payments
D. US Dollar is relatively dirtier than Romanian Leu.
23. In which column can you find this pass age in a newspaper
A. Business. B. Sports. C. Health. D. Discovery.

When Han Duan started her professional career at 16, China's national women's football team was defeated in the final of the World Cup by the US. While she was asked to play in her first World Cup in 2003, she largely sat on the bench after the first match.
But things have changed. Now, Han is one of the most important players in China's team. “I can’t wait to play. Life is short. You must make the most out of it,” Han always says like that.
Han wants every possible honor that a football player can get an Asian Cup, a World Cup and an Olympic medal. She has always been good at sports, especially swimming and horizontal bars. At school, she was the fastest in the 60m and 100m.
But the reason she picked football was that she wanted to get more praises. “Football is for boys. But I feel more fulfilled when I can do better than them and win more praises,” she said. Later, when she entered a football school, the coach always asked Han to show others what to do.
However, nobody can be good at everything. Han described her singing as “howling” and the only school subject she was good at was Chinese. “I was very happy every time my essay was posted on the wall for my schoolmates to read.” But Han still has some regrets about her school years. Her handwriting was terrible at school. She ever wanted to improve her handwriting but didn't achieve much.
“My fans ask for my signature(签名), so I'd better practice and practice. It's not too late,” she says.

A. A team captain. B. An unimportant player.
C. A fan of a sports star. D. A member of the audience.
25. What does the quotation in the second paragraph suggest
A. Han won't waste any of her practicing time.

D. Han decides to take every chance to join in matches.
26. What do we know about Han Dumn's performances

D. She has won an Asian Cup, a World Cup and an Olympic medal.

You have probably heard of the Mozart effect. It's the idea that if children or even babies listen to music composed of Mozart, they will become more intelligent. A quick Internet search shows plenty of products to assist you in the task. Whatever your age, there are CDs and books to help you taste the power of Mozart's music, but when it comes to scientific evidence that it can make you more clever, the picture is more mixed.
The phrase “the Mozart effect” was made up in 1991, but it was a study described two years later in the journal Nature that aroused real media and public interest about the idea that listening to classical music somehow improves the brain. It is one of those ideas that sound reasonable. Mozart was no doubt a genius himself; his music is complex and there is a hope that if we listen to enough of it, we'll become more intelligent.
The idea took off, with thousands of parents playing Mozart to their children, and in 1998Zell Miller, the Governor of the state of Georgia in the USA, even asked for money to be set aside in the state budget so that every newborn baby could be sent a CD of classical music, It was not just babies and children who were exposed to(接触) Mozart's music on purpose, even an Italian farmer proudly explained that the cows were played Mozart three times a day to help them to produce better milk.
I'll leave the debate on the effect on milk production to farmers, but what about the evidence that listening to Mozart makes people more intelligent More research was carried out but an analysis of 16 different studies confirmed that listening to music does lead to a temporary(临时的) improvement in the ability to handle shapes mentally, but the benefits are short-lived and it doesn't make us more intelligent.
28. What can we learn from Paragraph 1
A. Mozart composed many musical pieces for children.
B. Children listening to Mozart will be more intelligent.
C. There are few products on the Internet about Mozart's music.
D. There is little scientific evidence to support the Mozart effect.
29. The underlined phrase in Paragraph 3 suggests that .
A. people were strongly against the idea.
B. the idea was accepted by many people.
C. Mozart played an important part in people's life.
D. the US government helped promote the idea.
30. What's the author's attitude towards the Mozart effect
A. Supportive. B. Doubtful. C. Objective. D. Positive.
31. Which of the following can be the best title
A. What is the Mozart effect
B. What music is beneficial
C. Listening to Mozart, necessary
D. To be or not to be

For some people, nothing beats a long walk on a sandy beach. But there's no doubt that it's not as easy or as fast to get around on the beach as it is on a road or a sidewalk. But why is it so hard to walk on sand
The problem with sand is that it's soft; you "sink in" at each step. This forces you to use 2.1to 2.7 times more energy with every stop you take. Another idea is that people walk more difficultly on soft than they do on hard surfaces, a study found. The researchers compared how
people walked on foam(泡沫) and hard surfaces by analyzing the forces under their feet and how much oxygen each person consumed. They found that walking on soft surfaces, such as sand, mud and snow, caused people to take longer steps-actions that use more energy than walking on a hard surface.
But as experienced beach walkers know, there's a way to make it cashier to walk on sand: Just add water. When sand is wet, it becomes more compact(紧密), and walking on it is more similar to walking on hard surface. In other words, it's much easier to cross a beach by walking along the. Shoreline, where the waves roll in and out. This is a balance though; too much water could make the sand soft once again. If water isn't an option, there is another way to make walking on sand easier-increasing your surface area. This could be accomplished by wearing shoes.
Although it's more difficult, there are some good reasons to exercise on sand. The impact forces are lower on sand than on hard surface. Research suggests that walking across sand is much easier on your joints(关节) and muscles, especially compared with an unforgiving surface such as concrete (混凝土). This means sand is a better surface for helping athletics recover more quickly from workouts.
32. Why is the question raised in the first paragraph
A. To show problems.
B. To call up readers' memories.
C. To draw readers' attention to the topic.
D. To invite readers to answer it.
33. How can you walk on sand more easily
A. By putting on shoes. B. By taking longer steps.
C. By using special breath methods. D. By walking in the water.
34. Which of the following surfaces is unsuitable for athletes' training
A. Sand. B. Concrete. C. Foam. D. Snow.
35. What may be the suitable title for the text
A. Tips for Beach Vacation
