Have you ever heard of e-waste, which can be produced every day How do you deal with your computers, MP4 players and mobile phones when they’re broken or you want a new one
Most people just throw them away. With the development of the electronic industry, e-waste pollution has become a serious problem. According to the United Nations, in 2014, people around the world produced 41.8 million tons of e-waste but only recycled 6.5 million tons. The US was the biggest waster, producing 7.1 million tons. China came second with 6 million tons.

It has been more than two thousand years since we began to use an umbrella on rainy days. However, people often felt it not convenient to hold an umbrella while working. Then the rubber (橡胶) raincoat (雨衣) was invented by an Englishman named Macintosh in 1823.
In 1492, Columbus, a well-known Italian voyager (航行者), discovered the New World―the Americas. He brought a lot of things to Europe from South America. Rubber was one of them, but people didn’t know the use of rubber at that time. In 1770, people found that the rubber could be used as erasers.
Macintosh was a worker in an eraser factory in Scotland. One day he spilled (洒出) the rubber liquid (液体) over his clothes carelessly when making erasers. He was too busy to clean it and went back home wearing the dirty clothes. On the way home, it rained heavily. Having no umbrella, Macintosh had to run home quickly. When he got home, he took off the wet clothes. To his surprise, the area of the clothes with rubber wasn’t wet. “Why not make a rubber raincoat” Macintosh thought. The next day he brushed the rubber liquid all over a coat. He wore the “rubber coat” on rainy days and took a walk in the field to test if it could really keep off the rain. Surprisingly, the clothes inside the “rubber coat” weren’t wet at all. The rubber raincoat was created in this way by chance.
The rubber raincoats soon appeared on the market. However, they were sticky (黏的) in summer and hardened in winter. Year after year, people kept on improving the raincoats. Today raincoats are widely used in our daily life.

When people talk to each other, write letters or make phone calls, words of the spoken form or the written form can send any messages they want to pass on.
But besides words, do you know any other ways you can use to communicate with people Rich expressions on your face can be one of them. A smile on your face shows that you are happy. Tears in your eyes tell others that you are sad or excited. Body languages can do the same job. When you put your hand up in class, the teacher knows that you want to say something or you may have some questions to ask. You shake your head from side to side and people know you are saying “no” or disagree to others’ requirements. When you nod, people will understand that you are saying “yes” or agree to others’ opinions or suggestions.
Other forms can also carry different messages. For example, a sign at the bus stop gives passengers instructions on which bus to take. Sound from the school bell tells the students and the teachers when to begin or end a class. Music and films also convey the feelings and ideas of the musicians and the directors. So next time when you see a piece of art or listen to some music, take it as communication with its creator and try to get the meaning behind it.

First, he listened when they had meetings. Soon, he was traveling around the country and the world. His goal To educate and raise people up to face the “war” of climate change.
Today, Martinez runs Earth Guardians. The group works with thousands of kids around the world. He speaks to students in classrooms about steps they can take to help the planet. Walk or drive to work Which way is lower in carbon (碳) To be friendly to the environment, you may choose to walk. Have you ever tried to live a low-carbon life through your diet (日常饮食)
A new study from the University of Oxford has looked into the health and environmental influences of 15 foods common in western diets. Among these, plant-based (基于植物的) foods included fruits, vegetables, nuts and potatoes. It also studied animal-based foods, including red meat, chicken, milk products, eggs and fish.
According to the study’s lead researcher, Michael Clark, “Choosing better and greener diets is one of the main ways people can improve their health and protect the environment.” That is to say, plant-based diets are much healthier for us and kinder to the environment.
To get this result, researchers compared the influence of eating another portion (一份) of each food with the increased risk of a few illnesses. They also find out the environmental harm for each animal-based food and each plant-based food.
By using this method, the study found that red meats were the most unfriendly foods to the environment. Keeping farm animals produces a large number of methane (甲烷) that keeps 30 times more heat than CO2. As well as making the earth warmer, eating too much red meat is known to increase the risk of a few illnesses, such as heart trouble.
Plant-based diets can give us the same health benefits (益处) in a much greener way. According to the study, without eating or using meat and milk products, global farmland use could be cut down by more than 75% and still feed the world.
Speaking to the Guardian, Tim Benton of Chatham House said, “If we can give people reasonable official advice of what a healthy and green diet is, the world and its people would be in a much better place.”
