It was a freezing day when I found a wallet in the street, in which there was only three dollars and a crumpled(皱的) letter. To find some clues so that I could give it back, I opened the letter. Then I saw the date—1924. The letter was written 60 years before.
It was a letter written to Michael by Hannah, which said that she could not see him any more because her mother was against it. Even so, she would always love him.
There was no way, except for the name, Michael, that the owner could be identified(认清). So I called Information, hoping to find a phone listing for the address on the envelope(信封). After many setbacks, I finally got the name of a nursing home where Hannah was living.
This whole thing was stupid, I thought to myself. Anyway, I finally stood in front of Hannah who was a kind old woman with a warm smile on her face. The second she saw the envelope, she took a deep breath and said, “Michael! That was to Michael!”
“I loved him very much. But I was only 16 at that time and my mother felt I was too young. Michael Goldstein was a wonderful person, you know.” She stopped for a moment, “I never did marry. I think of him often...”
I thanked Hannah and said goodbye. As I stood by the door, the guard there asked if the old lady had been able to help me. I told him Hannah had given me a lead. “But I think I’ll let it go for a while. I don’t know where the owner is.” I then took out the wallet. When the guard saw it, he said, “Hey, wait! That’s Mr. Goldstein’s!”
“Mr. Goldstein ”
“He lives on the 8th floor here. That’s Mr. Goldstein’s wallet for sure. He must have lost it on one of his walks.”
I ran quickly back to the nurse’s office. The nurse guided me to Mr. Goldstein. She asked if he had lost his wallet. Mr. Goldstein looked up with surprise, put his hand in his back pocket, and said, “Oh, it’s missing!”
I handed Mr. Goldstein the wallet and said, “I read the letter in the hope of finding out who owned the wallet. I think I know where Hannah is.”
He suddenly grew pale. “Hannah You know where she is How is she Please, please tell me.”
“She’s fine...” I said softly.
The old man smiled and asked, “Could you tell me where she is ” He grabbed my hand and said, “You know something, Mister I was so in love with that girl that when that letter came, my heart broke. I never married. I guess I’ve always loved her.”
“Mr. Goldstein,” I said, “come with me.”
We went to the third floor, where Hannah was sitting alone, watching television. The nurse walked over to her. “Hannah,” she said softly, pointing to Michael. “Do you know this man ”
She adjusted(调整) her glasses, looked for a moment, but didn’t say a word. Michael said softly, “Hannah, it’s Michael. Do you remember me ”
She cried, “Michael! I don't believe it...” He walked slowly towards her and they embraced(拥抱).
About three weeks later, I got a call. “Can you come on Sunday to attend a wedding ...”
It was a beautiful wedding. If you ever wanted to see a newly-married couple acting like two teenagers, you had to see this couple.
4. How did the writer find the wallet’s owner, Michael
A. He got Michael’s address from the worn envelope.
B. He called Information and got Michael’s phone number.
C. Hannah gave him the exact address where Michael lived.
D. The guard identified Michael’s wallet and gave him information.

C. By following the order of events D. By following the order of importance
